The Road Goes Ever On

And so the Perth Academy S1 French Trip is over for another year… We’ve all laughed and joked and tried something new and made new friends and collected memories that we’ll keep for ever. Not bad for a week out of the classroom!

I’ve spent today uploading some of the pictures I didn’t get up during the week. Most have been retouched (slightly). Most have had some slight cropping to make them ‘better’ photos — or at least in Mrs W’s eyes. All should be at a slightly higher resolution than the original uploads.

If you’d like to find today’s uploads, they are arranged by event/day from the trip as follows (click on the bold type for links):

Day One (Sunday) — St Joseph and AmbleteuseHostel and Beach!

Day Two (Monday) — Boulogne, Cheese Factory and Aqualud — Monday was also the night of the STORM!

Day Three (Tuesday) — The Bakery, the Chocolate Factory, the Pottery and we even managed Cité Europe as well!

Day Four (Wednesday) — Calais Market and “The Calais Challenge” followed by the magnificent Calais A Du Talent!

Day Five (Thursday/Friday) — The extra day! Ypres and Tyne Cot followed by The Road Home!

There is no doubting that this has been a fantastic experience for all concerned, and that has only been possible because of the truly wonderful children who came on the trip. They have been truly magnificent and a credit to their parents, the school, and most importantly, themselves!

Picture 1And that’s it! We’re hoping to organise a slideshow night fairly soon and I’ll be putting a selection of the very best photos on a CD at full resolution for you to keep. If you want a copy of a specific photo of your child just ask them to let me know which one and I’ll get it to you!

One last word from me (promise)… can I just say a great big thank you for all the kind comments I received when we got back to the school about the blog! I’ve really enjoyed keeping you up to date, and I look forward to seeing some of you again on the Battlefields Trip in 2011!

Cheers,

Mr W

Ypres

Almost there! These are the revised and edited photos from Ypres and Tyne Cot… One ‘last post’ to go and that’ll be it for now!

As mentioned earlier, some of these photos have already been posted, but they’ve all been checked for colour, contrast and cropped to help focus on some aspect of the photo…

Talent Show Part Deux!

Here are some more piccies from the talent show with big thanks to Ethan for the wardobe contributions!

Calais Walkabout

Here are some more photos from the Calais Quiz Walkabout! Despite the cold(ish) wind, quite a few people found the need to have an ice-cream anyway! :)

The reason for the rather strange ‘cutouts’ in the park is that Le Musée des beaux-arts et la dentalle has an Alice in Wonderland exhibition at the moment… and most of Mr Winton’s team would have been on to visit it like a shot had they the time!

As before, these are the edited photies…

Going Potty!

After the visit to the Chocolate Factory, we headed across country to visit a Pottery…

More potty pictures follow!

Chocolat

Photos from the visit to Beussent Chocolat… Mmmm….

Monsieur Bun – The Baker

Sorry for the awful title to this post.

More edited pics of the trip to the bakery.

Boulogne And Cheese And Aqualud

Our first full day saw us visit Boulogne, the Cheese Factory and Aqualud… a pretty mixed bunch if ever there was one!

These are the updated and edited photos…

Hostel And Beach

After checking in and having our first meal it was time to hit the beach…

I’ve updated and edited these photos and added some that haven’t been uploaded before. They’re also all a reasonable resolution (click on the thumbnail to embiggen, and you may be able to click on the bigger vrsion to get the full size photo)

St Joseph And Ambleteuse

Here are some of the best photos from St Joseph and Ambleteuse. They’ve been cropped and straightened and colour fixed and just generally tidied up. They should also be a reasonable resolution as well! Enjoy…
